In our leak detection seminar we offer in-depth treatment of special areas and topics from the area of leak detection technology

The technical training center of Leybold has been approved by the Sector Cert GmbH for certificates as an examination center in accordance with DIN 45013 and DIN EN ISO 9712.

  • LG1 Fundamentals of leak detection and Leak Detector Operator Seminar

    Code: LG1.1 to  LG1.5

Target group: Newcomer to the helium leak detection technique. Operator of helium leak detectors

Seminar goal: The participant understands the basics of the helium leak detection and is able to operate, calibrate the leak detector and locate leaks.

    Topics:

    • Physical fundamentals
    • Terminology and definitions
    • Units of measurement, standard helium leak rate
    • Fundamentals of test gas leak detection (helium)
    • Operating principle and design of a leak detector
    • Operation of the L 200 and PHOENIX L300í series
    • Commissioning
    • Leak detection on components
    • Integral leak detection (hood test)
    • Sniffer leak detection

The seminar presents the basic theoretical knowledge in leak detection technology. Practical exercises are performed using various methods of leak detection.

Previous knowledge: The participants should have technical understanding or have already sufficient practical experience with vacuum pumps and/or systems.

  • Advanced Leak Detection Seminar

    Code: LA1.1 to  LA1.4

Target group: Experienced users in leak detecting. Candidates preparing the exam according to DIN EN ISO 9712

Seminar goal: Deepen theoretical and practical leak detection and / or prepare the exam according to DIN EN ISO 9712 with operating the following devices: L 200 plus, PHOENIX L300i

    Topics:

    Theoretical part (2 days):

    • Physical fundamentals
    • Terminology and definitions, units of measurement, standard leak rate
    • Operating principle and design of a leak detector
    • Test leaks, calibration
    • Partial flow calculation and signal increase times
    • Calculation of pressure matching
    • Conversion of liquid to gas leak rate
    • Leak rate calculations at reduced test gas concentrations

    Practical part (2 days):

    • Connection of a leak detector to systems
    • Defective components
    • Integral leak detection (hood test)
    • Leak detection on multistage pump systems
    • Creating a concentration
    • Sniffer leak detection, leak detection at the exhaust
    • Accumulation of a helium concentration
    • Pressure rise / drop test, bubble test

Expansion of the theoretical and practical leak detection with the methods test gas, bubble test and pressure change. The participant calculates standard leak rates and determines these in practical tests.
