  • COPT Center

    The COPT Center at the University of Cologne understands itself as 
    central entity for organic electronics in North Rhine Westphalia at the
    interface of science and industry. It is one of the three centers for 
    organic electronics in Germany.

    Leybold and the COPT Center worked together on several projects in different application areas like Solar and Research & Development for which Leybold delivered the necessary vacuum technology.

  • Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM)



    The Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) is a University of Applied Sciences with around 17,000 students. Since the summer semester 2017, the University offers a master's study in Vacuum Engineering at the city of Gießen, Germany. This study program is unique within Germany and will provide optimal conditions for a carreer as a professional engineer or manager in companies using vacuum technology. These are not only those companies operating in the field of machining classic vacuum technology, but also companies acting in the complete range of applications using vacuum in their processes.

    Leybold is very glad that the THM implemented this study program as it is the first time that the vacuum technique benefits from such a forum - perfect for fulfilling the requirements Leybold has for future graduates and employees. For a long time, vacuum technique and the technology of vacuum applications belonged rather to the discipline of scientific physics. However, engineering has become the strongest driver in the development and applications in the field of vacuum technology. Therefore, Leybold fully supports the launch of this master's study program. The industry and large research centers are in need of qualified and motivated graduates. Education with project and practice-orientation on a scientific level is a real benefit for us as a company and for the students. We are particularly happy to actively support this study course with offering the lecture "Applications in Vacuum Technique", which is held by a Leybold expert for vacuum technology.
