Beer Bottling Vacuum System Higher production quality and cost-savings
Sustainable vacuum solutions for beer bottle filling
Leybold has developed several effective vacuum solutions for different industrial needs. For the beer industry, our most cost effective and sustainable is our Beer Bottling Vacuum System (BBVS). This system is a specialized turnkey solution designed to be a sustainable alternative to the traditional liquid ring vacuum pumps (LRPs) and technology that is generally used in breweries.
While vacuum technology is used in different stages of the beer processing, the Leybold Beer Bottling Vacuum System is particularly ideal for the beer bottling stage. It is based on the DRYVAC dry screw vacuum pump, offering high robustness against possible foam, water vapor and liquid droplets. Beer foam and carried over liquids are stopped by a stainless-steel separator and self-draining vessel. The system runs automatically including cleaning at the end production or whenever it is necessary and provides the following benefits. The entire is made to enhance your efficiency and productivity allowing you to bottle up to approx. 80,000 bottles per hour (depending on the bottle format).
Leybold’s DRYVAC vacuum pumps and dedicated Beer Bottling Vacuum System doesn’t just deliver long-lasting performance, it also drives up your cost-savings. Thanks to the use of dry technology, there is minimal to no water consumption (as compared to LRPs) helping you reduce water usage and any contaminated sewage water. The system also ensures energy savings and reduced maintenance costs.
User Advantages
- Water and power saving
- Durable hygienic design
- Operational efficiency
- High performance
- Full system control
Water and power saving
Water and power saving
The BBVS uses up to 80% less water consumption compared to LRPs. No contaminated sewage water.
With the optional water chiller, water consumption can be fully eliminated - supporting sustainable and resource-efficient operation.
Up to 20% less energy consumption compared to LRPs.
Durable hygienic design
Durable hygienic design
- Dead space free design
Prevents residue buildup and ensures thorough cleaning (CIP/SIP-capable), minimizing microbiological risks. - High quality surface finishes & sealing technology
High-quality seals and electropolished stainless-steel surfaces (e.g., 1.4404 / AISI 316L) resist cleaning agents and reduce contamination risk. - Effortless cleaning & maintenance
Tool-free access and durable components simplify servicing and reduce downtime. - Certified compliance
Fully compliant with EHEDG and FDA standards for hygienic design, materials, and cleanability. - Robust stainless-steel construction
Separator, draining vessel, piping, and valve seats are built from corrosion-resistant stainless steel for long-term durability and hygiene.
Operational efficiency
Operational efficiency
Our BBVS systems is powered by DRYVAC DV 650 or 800 which is the key model in the category of dry screw vacuum pump.
- Robust dry screw Design
Tolerates process fluctuations including foam and liquid ingress. Can even be flushed internally for cleaning - ensuring uptime and reliability. - “Cool” operation
With exhaust temperatures maxing at just 150 °C, the pump prevents caramelization of sugars and minimizes internal layer buildup or blockages - ideal for sensitive food processes. - Hygienic & washdown ready configuration
Remote frequency converter, stainless-steel silencer, and triple-layer epoxy coating make the pump suitable for washdown environments.
Enables installation in the same location as LRP systems - streamlining layout and maintenance.
High performance
High performance
A consistent, low-pressure bottling process ensures minimal Total Package Oxygen (TPO), resulting in:
- Longer shelf life
- Enhanced product quality
- Reduced CO₂ usage for more sustainable operations
Full system control
Smart control – Local or remote
Operate your system locally via a 7" HMI or integrate seamlessly into your automation network using industrial Ethernet fieldbus protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP).
Ensures real-time control, easy integration, and maximum flexibility.
