Service sales

  • Frequent visits with customers to target areas of business and promote and expand the current service contract portfolio
  • To establish and maintain a competitive and profitable pricing policy
  • To establish new service agreements with existing and new customers
  • To communicate and follow up with customers to identify their needs and ways that Leybold Equipment can support those needs
  • To contribute to the development of new services to our clients
  • Respond to customer complaints or request for repair cost reimbursement in an effective and efficient manner
  • To provide trainings to clients
  • Gain clear understanding of Divisional strategy and how to best implement in accordance and conjunction to assigned Region
  • Competition and market benchmark to evolve best service strategy

Service operations / Resource planning

  • To effectively manage the service operations of the branch, including Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and the administration team
  • To co-ordinate the resources of the France and Spain Service centers to perform service jobs in accordance with customer requirements
  • To implement sound manpower planning and to regularly review performance standards, formulate improvement programs and to increase results
  • To ensure timely and accurate invoice processing, employee time posting and reviews, parts orders, Service Letter completions, quotes, and customer follow-up

People Management

  • To manage the team comprised of 10-13 employees (field service and in-house technicians, service administrators, service sales engineers, technical support warehouse operator)
  • To assure service agreements and maintenance jobs are kept with the time/scope/budget
  • To make and communicate decisions consistently with leadership, integrity, quality, urgency and teamwork
  • To develops and manage subordinates careers for future growth based on technical knowledge of all of the product range, soft and interpersonal skills
  • To recruit and train new staff when necessary
  • To arrange practical equipment and service training of personnel
  • To do annual performance reviews and target setting

Other duties

  • To do monthly reporting and prepare business reviews to the division in coordination with the Country Manager / Regional Business line Manager
  • To establish the annual service targets and team KPIs, control costs and monitor equipment and stocks in the service departments, replacing and updating as appropriate
  • To work with internal customers in a supportive and productive way in support of the goals of the company and not just the individual department
  • To liaise with the company's world-wide manufacturing plants and the Vacuum Technique Service division (VTS)
  • To manage the health and safety processes in France in conjunction with the local regulations and group standard 
  • Assess + maintain 3rd party service groups
  • Oversee the facility management

We expect


  • Professional background in Mechanics/ Systems /Machine tools/ Electronics or Mechatronics
  • Experience in business administration
  • Proven capacity of managing customer expectations
  • Experience in staff supervision combined with strong Leadership and management skills would be a plus


  • Knowledge of the vacuum Products & service business
  • Excellent interpersonal, self-motivational and negotiating skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work across all levels, functions and regions


  • Solid skills with MS Office – experience with SAP is a plus
  • Clean driving license
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
  • Willingness to travel (in the range of 30%) mainly within the assigned territory as well as other global locations.
  • Excellent French skills, both verbal and written. English is necessary. Any other language skills is an additional plus (Spanish, Portuguese)
