Technical and Commercial leadership role for a portfolio of Leybold Scientific Vacuum products. Primary conduit for product related activity with global product management group, including pricing structure, marketing plans, new product launch and product training.

Develops knowledge and understanding of the competitor products and markets for the scientific vacuum portfolio of products.

Resource to all North American  Sales Channels for product selection, configuration, as well as geographic support for the full scientific vacuum product range.  Close working partnership with technical support group and scientific vacuum service.


  • Has primary regional responsibility for the Leybold Scientific Vacuum Product range
    • Regional primary contact point for Global Product Management
      • Price Structure
      • Product management & launch
      • Marketing – aid in definition and prioritization of messaging in cooperation with NA and Global Marketing
      • Develops detailed understanding of Market Position and Market Share.  Defines clear picture of total available market for SV product portfolio within North America.
  • When called upon, aids Technical Support group for product related questions.
  • Works in concert with Applications team to aid in recommendation of vacuum equipment required for known and emerging applications.
  • Train customers (in-house and off-site) on proper application of Leybold products.
  • Train Leybold sales channels and sales support functions on selecting Leybold SV and UHV products for Advanced Market applications.
  • Prepares materials for presentations and makes key product presentations.
  • Supports new applications, start up assistance, and qualifications at customer site during test phase.
  • Develops application knowledge of Leybold products and how they are used in the advanced market segments (excluding SV Systems business, i.e., Univex).
  • Develops a working knowledge of the Scientific Vacuum Product competition (product and pricing) to input to global product management and to assist in development of value added sales message.
  • Support regional warranty claim decisions.


  • B.S. degree in a technical related discipline is preferred, or at least 8 years experience in technical product marketing or product management support. Vacuum Industry preferred.
  • Strong application experience with MS office software programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Overnight travel is required, up to 50%.

  • A flexible approach and ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding of vacuum theory or principles is a plus
